When installing, both sides of the lamp should be pushed forward at the same time. As I was inserting the light it cracked. Not sure why this would happen

Hello, that may happen when the third brake light is installed with a bit too much force, that causes stress on the lens. It needs to be installed while gently pushing both sides of the lens in.
